Greetings:

Can you please give me a step-by-step instruction on how to set up and migrate Outlook to a new computer? Please note that:

·         I have a Gmail.com email account.

·         In terms of the data file:

o   I have one Gmail.com.OST file

o   One large. Outlook .PST file when I used to have a POP account

o   One outlook .PST archive files.

I am an 83-year-old man and would appreciate any help you can give me.

Have a great week

    Hi Baha,

Nice to meet you! I'm Randy, an Independent Advisor.

You can try this steps, On your new computer, install Outlook, then add your Gmail account through File > Add Account (your Gmail .OST file will rebuild automatically). Next, copy your old .PST files (POP and archive) from the old computer usually in Documents > Outlook Files to the same folder on the new computer. In Outlook, go to File > Open & Export > Open Outlook Data File and select each .PST to make them appear in your folder list. You can keep them separate for reference or drag emails/folders into your Gmail account so they sync online.

    Kind regards,

    Thank you very much.

I followed your advice and set up our look with the Gmail account. But the screen looks different from what I had before. See image.

Is it possible to switch to the old layout? If yes, please tell me .

If not, how can I add the .PST data files as you directed me?

    Here's a fairly comprehensive guide:

Your screenshot is showing Outlook New where your old computer likely had Outlook Classic. This article may help:
