Cannot change subscription from "Visual Studio Enterprise Subscription – MPN" to Pay-As-You-Go

I have a expired Visual Studio Enterprise Subscription – MPN with some resources I need to move to a new subscription. To move these I apparently need to reactivate my expired subscription to a Pay-As-You-Go.
When trying to switch the expired subscription , the following message appears

You are encountering an issue when you trying to move resources from an expired Visual Studio Enterprise Subscription - MPN to a new subscription. To do this, you attempted to convert the expired subscription to Pay-As-You-Go, but received the error message, this means Azure does not support direct conversion from your current subscription type to Pay-As-You-Go.
The expired Visual Studio Enterprise subscription may not support direct conversion or reactivation via the Azure portal due to its status or because the subscription has been disabled or expired. Also, the Azure portal may not show conversion options if the offer linked to the subscription is no longer valid or supported for conversion.
Important things to do before moving a resource
- The source and destination subscriptions must exist within the same Microsoft Entra tenant.
- The subscription must not be disabled (if it’s fully disabled, or If you have trouble enabling an account that's disabled/expired, create an Azure support request)

2025-08-29T12:14:11.3233333+00:00 Hello Dennis Lerche, Resources can only be moved from an expired subscription to a new one if the source subscription is reactivated and both subscriptions belong to the same Microsoft Entra tenant. Since the original subscription is currently disabled or expired, the only way to enable it is by submitting a create an Azure support request to restore access.
