Unable to add internet calendar in Outlook

Each time I add a Calendar, one of the exiting ones disappears and the new one is not created either. I tried through Files/ Account Settings/Internet Calendars but the "New..." is greyed out. I saw there a note at bottom of page that indicated I need to add through "Add Calendar > From Internet selected from Home > Add Calendar in the Calendar ribbon. However, it also does not work. It does not add the new Calendar as I add the web internet address and save it. I noticed it removes randomly one of the existing Calendar accounts. Not sure if it is messing up the location file of one of the existing Calendars. This is a nightmare. It used to be so easy in the past.

I tested adding a couple of my Gmail accounts calendars using the secret address in iCal format. I did Home, Add Calendar, from Internet. I pasted in the .ics URL from Gmail and clicked OK. Both calendars added under shared calendars. A bit of confusion is that I got an error after I did the add but the calendar was added anyway. The calendars you are adding do they end in .ics?

Another way I got an internet calendar was for my college's Football schedule. When I requested that calendar it downloaded an .ics file. To add that calendar I double clicked on the .ics file and clicked Open as New. This calendar got added to the section Other Calendars.

Double check the calendar is not getting added with an abbreviated name. You can right click on the calendar and rename it if that happened.

Hello Edward. This situation is more likely the result of corruption/misconfiguration in the Outlook calendar data files specifically the Internet Calendar Subscriptions.pst file that tracks linked calendar data. If the Internet Calendar Subscriptions.pst file is missing, corrupted, or pointed to the wrong location in Outlook, it is possible emerged symptoms when trying to add new calendars as new calendars will simply not add, and the solution may remove calendars randomly when trying to use existing calendars. Since the “New…” button is not usable, and the ribbon method also fails, it’s likely either that the calendar subscription system is corrupt.

To address the situation first repair your Outlook profile through Control Panel > Mail > Show Profiles > Manage Profiles > Repair. Next check for past file corruption in scoped by running ScanPST.exe in the Office install folder.

If the behavior continues to exist, creating an entire new Outlook profile and adding these calendars again from scratch may be your only solution.

    Hope this helps.

    Best regards,
