Ive seen others having issues since the update, however I can't get very far into my laptop to do the suggested steps. It keeps restarting and showing this screen. When I press f12, it brings me into one-time boot settings but I dont know what to do from here. I pressed SupportAssist OS Recovery and the tests failed. The Bios is also up to date. Please help!

What I usually do is a System Restore and restore the computer to a point before the problem started. That works if System Restore is enabled and automatically creating restore points.

Do you have a recovery disk? You can use an installation disk to repair your computer.

You can usually access the recovery environment from the BIOS. I can't be specific with your particular computer model.

You can perform a hard shutdown and reboot approximately three times to access the recovery environment.

I have a mini PC running Windows 11 Pro, and after this update I have encountered at least two BSOD errors every day. I had to uninstall this update, but of course it's going to automatically update as soon as I boot up tomorrow. This is just not working for me.

Cynthia, go to Windows Update in the Windows settings and select Pause updates: Extend for one or two weeks. Keep pausing updates until Microsoft fixes the problem.

    Hi N H,

I'm Hendrix, here to help with your query on the Microsoft Q&A forums.

Apologies for any inconvenience you are experiencing. I am happy to help you today.

To work towards a solution, please try the following initial troubleshooting steps:

1 - Boot into Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE)

    • Power on your laptop and interrupt the boot process 3 times (hold power button when you see the logo).
    • On the 4th boot, you should see “Preparing Automatic Repair” → Advanced Options.

2 - Use System Restore (if enabled)

    • In Advanced Options → Troubleshoot → Advanced Options → System Restore.
    • Choose a restore point before KB5063878 was installed.

3 - Uninstall the Update from WinRE

    • Advanced Options → Troubleshoot → Advanced Options → Uninstall Updates.
    • Select Uninstall Latest Quality Update (this removes KB5063878).

4 - Boot into Safe Mode

    • Advanced Options → Startup Settings → Restart → Press 4 or F4 for Safe Mode.
    • If Safe Mode works, uninstall KB5063878 via:
        wusa /uninstall /kb:5063878 /quiet /norestart
