Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.
Microsoft Q&A is public, and we can only provide information. It is beyond our capability to assist directly with billing-related issues.
The process isn’t automatic, so you’ll need to make a couple of changes to switch from Microsoft 365 Family to a single subscription. Here’s how you can do it:
- Cancel recurring billing on your current Family subscription now, so it won’t auto-renew after 08/09/2025.
- Wait until it expires. Once it ends, you can purchase either Microsoft 365 Basic (cloud storage and email only) or Microsoft 365 Personal (includes Office apps) with annual billing.
- If you have a product key, redeem it after the Family plan expires to activate your new subscription.
- After setup, check your Microsoft account > Services & subscriptions page to make sure annual billing is enabled.
This way, you’ll smoothly move from Family to a single subscription under the same account, and your billing will be on an annual cycle.
