I always write presentations in English, how ever PowerPoint insist up on changing the language to Danish despite the fact that I have removed Danish as a language option. Most probably it is because use a keyboard with a Danish layout (hard to change on a laptop, thus not an option). I can of cause mark a section and manually change the language, but next section has the same issue meaning I change the language several time while making just one slide. As a dyslectic I am dependent on the spelling check function and cannot just turn it off.

How can I force PowerPoint to respect my choice of typing language? Seams as a problem known for at least 4 years but apparently no willingness to correct (and yes I have also reported directly through PowerPoint feedback also with no response)

The default proofing language is usually controlled via the display language in the operating system (this is not very logical of course). You can keep regional settings as desired, but try switching the displayed language for Windows options and dialog boxes to English, and see if that lets you use English for proofing in PowerPoint.

Thanks for the follow-up. As a last resort, I would suggest that you try and uninstall the US English keyboard support.
