Regarding the issue where you do not see the Virtru button in Outlook on Web (OWA), please follow the steps below to check and resolve the problem:
- Check if the Virtru add-in is installed
- In OWA, click “New message” to open the compose window.
- Click the “…” (more actions) icon or the Apps icon.
- Look for Virtru in the list of add-ins. If available, click to activate it.
If not visible:
- Go to Get Add-ins > Add a custom add-in > Add from URL.
- Paste the following link: https://cdn.virtru.com/outlookjs/manifest/VirtruForOutlook.xml
- Confirm to install the add-in.
Note: If you do not have permission to install add-ins, please contact your IT department for support in deploying it via the Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
- Activate the Virtru add-in
- After installation, create a new email and click the Virtru icon.
- Follow the instructions to activate (via Office 365 login or email verification).
- Once activated, the Virtru panel will display a Protection toggle to enable/disable encryption.
- Check Outlook settings
- Go to Settings > Mail > Customize actions.
- Ensure Virtru is selected under Add-ins so it appears on the toolbar.
- If the Virtru button is still missing
- Visit: https://outlook.office.com/mail/inclientstore
- Check under My Add-ins > Custom Add-ins to see if Virtru is listed.
- If listed but disabled, enable it. If not listed, you may need to reinstall or request IT deployment.
