Outlook Reminders on Follow Up emails-Not giving reminders

Hello. I have been adding a follow up and reminder to the emails I send so that I can follow up on them weekly. I started noticing that even though I added a start and the due date (to be one week after), I will not get a reminder the following week. I just sent one out, marked it as follow up and when I went to my sent, it's no longer highlighted in yellow and no longer has the reminder bell icon even though it was originally marked. How can I ensure I am getting a follow up reminder the following week? I have to once again go to the sent email and mark it with a reminder again. All tips are appreciated. TIA

    Regarding to your description, I would recommend setting the follow-up after sending the email with Microsoft To do app in New Outlook, please try the below steps: 

    1. Compose your email as usual. 
    2. In the Sent items folder, flag the email to follow up 
    3. Select To do on the left pane  
    4. Select Flagged emails, drag the email to tasks pane User's image
    5. Set due date and remind option

    Thank you for your response. Since you mentioned that the flagged email isn’t appearing in the To Do app, could you please describe what you see immediately after flagging the email? To make it easier, feel free to include a screenshot in your comment. 

    Also, please make sure to follow these steps: 

    1. After flagging the email, click on the To Do app in the left pane, it’s marked with a blue checkmark.

    1. Select Flagged emails, drag the email to tasks pane
