I created an account for my 13 year old brother to play minecraft on and he cannot play because of xbox privacy settings. I couldn't change them when he was in a microsoft family with me (who's over 18) and since then, I switched his account to an adult one and he still cannot change his privacy settings.

If you have troubles to follow those steps, please share if you are able to change your own privacy settings, and if you are if you added the account as a child account to the Microsoft family, and when you mention that you change it to an adult account, was this done by changing the birthday or by adding it to a family as organizer?

2025-08-28T11:10:28.1666667+00:00 This means that either the account you are trying to manage is not listed in the family as a child account and that needs to be solved or the account you are currently using to manage that account in the family is also a child account, so, it cant change the settings, only an adult account, as a family organizer, can modify a child account that is listed as child and not as family organizer
