It is currently the fourth Tuesday of August and I was expecting the D update to be released today. I see a new update released for other OSs like Windows 10 22H2 and Windows 11 23H2, but nothing for Windows 11 24H2. I see that this should have potentially be KB5064081, OS build 26100.5067, but nothing has been released.

Has anyone heard why there's currently no D update for Windows 11 24H2?

    Dear btbt,

As of August 22, 2025, Microsoft has released KB5064081 (Build 26100.5067) for Windows 11 24H2 as part of the Release Preview Channel, marking the beginning of the September 2025 cumulative update rollout. While this build includes several new features and fixes, such as enhancements to Windows Recall, File Explorer, and Taskbar behavior, it is currently being distributed in stages and may not yet be visible to all users depending on region, device eligibility, and rollout configuration1.

Unlike traditional D updates, which are typically released during the fourth week of the month, Microsoft has shifted some preview updates to align with broader rollout strategies. This means that while KB5064081 serves as the preview for September, its availability may not follow the exact timing of previous D releases.

We recommend monitoring the Windows Update settings on your device and the Windows Insider Blog for the latest release notes and availability updates.

I hope this helps. Just kindly tick Accept Answer that others in the community facing similar issues can easily find the solution. Your contribution is highly appreciated.

    Best regards,
