I can't make changes to my brand-new PC because the system does not recognize me as an administrator despite my account having Global Administrator privileges and being the sole user/member. this is incredibly frustrating because I can't even factory reset my PC without administrator permission, even though that person is ME. Please help, there must be some solution.

    Dear Jacob Anaya,

Please note that Global Administrator rights in Microsoft 365 apply to cloud-based services and do not automatically grant local administrative access on Windows devices. For full control over system settings, including factory reset and software changes, your local Windows account must be part of the Administrators group on the device itself.

To resolve this, we recommend checking the account type by navigating to Settings > Accounts > Your Info and confirming whether your profile is listed as “Administrator.” If not, and you’re unable to elevate permissions, you may need to sign in with the original setup account or use recovery options such as Safe Mode with Command Prompt to enable administrative access.

If the device is domain-joined or managed via Intune or another MDM solution, administrative controls may be enforced by organizational policy, in which case we suggest contacting your IT administrator for assistance.

I hope this helps. Just kindly tick Accept Answer that others in the community facing similar issues can easily find the solution. Your contribution is highly appreciated.

    Best regards,

    Domic Vo
