For some reason, my MS Surface Pro X just started in Recovery Environment. It asks for the Recovery Key. My Microsoft Account doesn't list a recovery key for the device.

Question 1: Can Microsoft locate the recovery key for the device? It must be somewhere else?
Opting for a reset in the recovery environment, both reset options lead to "There was a problem resetting your PC. No changes were made."

Question 2: What can I do next??

Surface | Surface Pro | Performance and maintenance

    Hi CB,

Thank you for confirming that this is your personal device. Another way we can get the BITLOCKER key aside from checking it on your Microsoft Account is from the time you activated your Bitlocker. You might keep the printed or right down the Bitlocker recovery key on a piece of paper. Another way is via USB Flash drive by saving it to a text file. If those steps did not help last resort will be the reset of your device.

You can also visit this article from Microsoft to check further https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/find-your-bitlocker-recovery-key-6b71ad27-0b89-ea08-f143-056f5ab347d6

I hope this information is helpful. Feel free to reply for better understanding.

    Regards,

    Jansher

    Hi Jansher

I’m very familiar with the article you linked and I have exhausted all these options. You will note that I have tried to reset the device as a last resort but that is also not working.

    Update:

I took the device to a nearby Microsoft Authorized Service Provider who also cannot provide solutions. We tried to reboot windows from a boot file on a USB
