Hi,

I have an user that cannot search anymore in Outlook after the upgrade to Windows 11 was performed. The version of Outlook is "Microsoft® Outlook® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2408 Build 16.0.17928.20654) 64-bit". The error is "Something went wrong and your search couldn't be completed. It looks like there's a problem with your network connection."

What I have tried so far:

  • repair Office
  • rebuild the Index in Outlook
  • create a new mail profile
  • check the Windows Search service is running
  • remove the OST file from C:\Users<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\
  • create in the registry the keys DisableServerAssistedSearch (1) and DisableServerAssistedSearch (0)
  • check the version of the Windows 11: it's a new one, should contain all the fixes for this issue
  • start Outlook in safe mode, the same behaviour
  • make sure Use Cached Exchange Mode is enabled (File → Account Settings → Account Settings → [mailbox of the user] → Change)

Thanks!

    Hi @Cornel Amarandei

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I saw that you have tried a lot of ways but still no luck.

May I know if you search in primary mailbox or a secondary mailbox?

You can try one of these:

    • Update your Outlook
      User's image
    • Clear RoamCache: Press the Windows + R > Type %localappdata%\Microsoft\Outlook > Find the RoamCache folder > Delete all files in it.
    • Rebuild Window indexing in Control Panel
      User's image

Please try and let me know if it works for you, if not, we can figure out another approach.

    Thanks for your cooperation.
