I signed up for MS 365's free trial through Apple Store, which was due for expiration on August 27, 2025. My Apple Store has a different saved payment method, than the one saved on my Microsoft account. I got an apple P2M debit for ~INR 6800 on August 26, a day before the expiration of my free trial. Yet I proceeded to cancel my subscription, hoping I'd get my money back. Now my Microsoft account and Apple Store say that my subscription has expired, yet I am getting access to entire MS 365 suite. What's happening? Why is there no confirmation of having purchased the years' subscription? Why was there a debit within the free trial period? And if I have cancelled within the trial period, as Microsoft acknowledges I have, why has my money not been refunded?

Hi, thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A forum. I’m happy to help.

Please note that here in the Microsoft Q&A forum, we are fellow users and do not have account access.

The one-day advance renewal is intended to ensure there is no interruption of service once the trial expires the following day. Regarding your question, if I canceled the subscription within the trial period, as Microsoft acknowledges, why has my refund not yet been processed?

Typically, when you cancel a subscription, it takes about 3–5 business days for the refund to reflect in your bank account.

If you haven’t received the refund after that time frame, or if you have further concerns, I suggest contacting Apple Support since your subscription was purchased through the Apple Store: https://support.apple.com/en-us/118428

According to this Microsoft article, if you purchased a Microsoft subscription through Google Play or the Apple App Store, you’ll need to contact their customer support for cancellation or refund requests.
