Hello Hugh. When you re-added or modified your email account in Outlook, did you choose a manual setup, or let Outlook configure it automatically?

    Here’s what you can try:

    1. In Outlook, go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings.
    2. Select your Optus account and click Change.
    3. Check whether the Account Type is set to IMAP.
    4. If it’s IMAP and you want emails to stay on your PC even after deleting them from the server, you’ll need to remove the account and re-add it using POP3 instead.

    To switch to POP3:

    1. Remove the current Optus account from Outlook.
    2. Add it again, but choose Manual setup or additional server types.
    3. Select POP and use:
      • Incoming server: mail.optusnet.com.au, port 110
      • Outgoing server: mail.optusnet.com.au, port 25 or 587
    4. In More Settings > Advanced, enable “Leave a copy of messages on the server”.

This setup will store your emails locally, so even if they’re deleted from Optus Webmail, they’ll remain in Outlook.
