Trying to install 24H2 in my Asus laptop.

Hello,
For many times now, I have received the notification via Windows Update to install version 24H2.

However, every time I try to install it, Windows Update downloads the file(s), performs the installation, resets my machine a couple of times, and then undoes the changes.

When I try to understand what happens, all I get is a "0x80070002" error.

I have checked several system logs, run it through some LLMs to help me find some information, but all I get is always the same tips:

  • Check Windows Update History
  • Check Windows Update Log file
  • Check DISM and SFC
  • Run Windows Update Troubleshooter
  • Clean Windows Update Cache
  • Reset Windows Update Components

I have also tried to download the Windows 11 24H2 ISO and run it manually. However, the final result was the same, and the installation did not complete.

I don't know what else to do to try to update my system. Does anyone has any other tips?

Thanks!

Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

Please share the log files "Setupact.log" and "Setuperr.log" stored in the following folders.

    C:$Windows.~BT\Sources\Panther

    C:$Windows.~BT\Sources\Rollback

Copy the files or folders to your desktop or another easily accessible folder and store them in a ZIP file. Then, upload the ZIP file to the cloud (OneDrive) and choose it to get the link.

Post the link to the ZIP file here so I can have a look.

    I await your reply.
