Microsoft only began rolling out the free ESU with the August update and there was problems reported with the roll out, but it is now being rolled out, ensure you have version 22H2 of Windows 10 installled and also the August update installed and log into Windows 10 with a Microsoft account, there is nothing further you need to do, check the Windows Updates section in the settings app each day, the ESU offer will appear there soon.
I am trying to enrol in the Windows 10 Extended Security Update programme but the option to enrol does not appear in Windows Update on my system.

I am right up to date with the latest Windows 10 and all software updates. I am logged in using my Microsoft account. According to your documentation the option to enrol in W10 ESU should therefore be available in Windows Update. But it is not there. Please can you help me with this so that I can enrol in the security update programme and continue running Windows 10 securely until October 2026. My laptop is not upgradeable to Windows 11. Many thanks
