Hi, can anyone help urgently please. I've come to locate some emails I knew were in my inbox, and so many are missing. They were never deleted, and they never went to junk mail. They were always sitting in my inbox and a folder I had created and I can't find them anywhere. I've seen this is a common problem with outlook (hotmail) wit other users but I still haven't found a solution despite searching loads online and reading loads about this. How can I get these important emails back.

Hello, my name is Mario, and I would be happy to assist you with your issue.

    I’m sorry for what happened!

Please go through the checks below to try to locate the emails you mentioned you’re unable to find:

    Deleted Items

    Junk Email (Spam)

Other folders you may have created: an automatic rule might have moved them.

Archive: many users find “missing” emails stored in this folder.

    • Use the Outlook.com search box, but make sure to set it to search in “All folders” and “Any date”.

Check Rules and Filters Go to Settings → Mail → Rules. See if any rule may have automatically moved or deleted the emails.

Check device synchronization If you access your account on a mobile device (Outlook app, Gmail app, iPhone Mail, etc.), one of them might be set up as POP3 (which downloads emails and removes them from the server). It’s best to always use IMAP or Exchange/Outlook so that emails remain on the server.

Please go through these checks and let me know if you were able to recover the emails.

    Best regards,

    Mario B.
