Accepting a Family Share invitation when the share recipient already has a 365 account.

My sister has a personal 365 account, and I'd like to have her join my Family sharing account, as we're both paying for two separate 365 accounts.

She has a lot of files in OneDrive that she doesn't want to/can't lose.I just want to double check with an expert that the process is seamless when she accepts my invitation, making sure that her current files are retained...? Is there anything we should be aware of first? Or is it a case that she will have a 'new' account created if she accepts my invitation?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, and welcome to Microsoft Q&A.

The accounts will not change when she joins your family plan. You will each have 1TB of cloud storage. Together, you will save money by combining both plans into one bundle.
