When will Azure AI Service Voice Live API transition from Public Preview to General Availability?

I am closely evaluating the Voice Live API for a Service. Currently, it is available in public preview as of July 31, 2025. To plan for production rollout, I would highly appreciate clarification on the roadmap:

  • Is there an expected timeline or specific milestone for when Voice Live API will reach General Availability (GA)?
  • Are there any criteria or stages (e.g., regional expansions, feature stabilizations) that must be fulfilled before GA?
  • Will it be available in Azure Switzerland?
  • Will there be advance notice or phased rollout details communicated to customers ahead of the GA release?

Thanks for clarifying these points.

Hello Benjamin Meyer, please find the responses to your questions below.

    • There is no official announcement from Microsoft on when Voice Live API will be GA'ed. So, there is no timeline that is officially defined.
    • Products/features typically move through several stages before they are GA'ed. Some of them include feature stability, customer feedback etc. Each varies depending on the product/feature.
    • No definite clarity from Microsoft yet. They may likely surface by the time it goes GA.
    • Generally yes. You can keep track of the updates via some of the broader Azure tech communities or through major MS events such as MS Build etc.
