Use the Database Missing Indexes page to find ways to improve database performance by adding indexes.
This release adds new metrics to help you understand the benefits of adding indexes:
- Seeks: Shows the number of seeks from queries that could use the suggested index.
- Scans: Shows the number of scans from queries that could use the suggested index.
- Average Total Cost: Displays the average cost of queries that the suggested index can lower.
- Average Impact: Displays the average percentage reduction in query costs when you add the suggested index.
- Estimated Benefit: Calculates the potential benefit of adding the suggested index with this formula: (seeks + scans) × (average total cost) × (average impact).
