Partner Center account settings

Appropriate roles: Global admin | Account admin

The account you create when you enroll in Partner Center is your work email plus your business information.

After you create an account in Partner Center, you can set up your company's full profile including support details, file tax exemptions (if appropriate), and primary contact information.

Your company's account includes user accounts for anyone on your team. The work they do might include:

  • Add or manage customers
  • Sell subscriptions
  • Work with billing and invoicing
  • Create business profiles
  • Manage referrals
  • Work with incentives programs
  • Provide support, and more

For more information, see Add a new user.

In your Account Settings, you'll find the next tabs, each of them with unique capabilities to help you achieve a great management of the account. It's important to understand that the visibility of the tabs depends on the level of access and type of enrollments you have on your account.

Overview

In the Overview section, you have useful information around the user account used to sign in to Partner Center, and direct links to view your own permissions, request more accesses you might require or quick start info.

My learning profile

In this part of the account settings you're redirected to link your Microsoft Learn profile to your Partner Center account and how to get access to Partner University. Linking your profiles allows your organization to get credit for the trainings, assessments, and certifications that you complete in Microsoft Learn and Partner University.

My access

This is an insightful section of your account settings as it displays all workspaces that exist for your account and the level of access you possess for each, and if you don't have access to any of the workspaces displayed in the list, you're directly pointed to the right person within your company that can help with provisioning the needed access.

User management

What you work on in Partner Center and the areas you're able to update or see depends on your role and the permissions attached to that role. For example, if you aren't an Incentives admin, you can't change anything on the Incentives pages even though you might be able to view the data. For more information, see Roles and permissions.

Programs

Here you can review all the registered programs and the other programs available for enrollment for your company.

There are many Partner Center programs available. Each program has different requirements your company needs to meet before it can enroll in that program.

For more information about enrolling in Partner Center programs, see:

For more information about enrolling in Partner Center programs, see Partner network resources.

Agreements

Your one stop place for reviewing active and pending agreements of the account, together with important information such as date of acceptance, agreement version, who from your company accepted the agreement and if there's any action pending.

Activity log

In this section of the account settings, you can review past activity logs related to your account for up to 90 days. Here, details around multiple operations types (such as order updates, referral updates, addition of users, etc.) are stored and can be exported for your review.

Organization profile

Learn about the different components of your organization profile in Partner Center.

When you enroll for a Partner Center account (tenant), your company information goes through a verification process with Microsoft. You can track the status of your verification on the Legal info page. It shows the primary contact (whom Microsoft contacts about partner questions) and the primary legal contact (the person who manages your legal information and status). All of your company's business locations are listed and can be added here.

To learn more about what this verification process entails and why it's important to you, see Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program verification process video.

In Legal info, you'll have a tab for each aspect of your business, if you have multiple enrollments with the same work account: Partner, Reseller, Developer, each of them with their own authorization status and fields to update the Company details, primary contact, security contact.

The company name displayed in Partner Center should match the one represented in your official local authorities documents, and the same should be applicable to the legal address fields. When editing, you can either look up your company profile or enter company information manually. If your company is registered with Dun & Bradstreet, use the DUNS ID to look up your company info. If you want to provide your company details yourself, select Manual.

If your company is located in Armenia, Hungary, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Uzbekistan, or Russia, and you enter your address manually, we validate your address for you. If the one you enter differs from the validated one, we suggest you use the validated address. Verification ensures that the address is both accurate and can be shipped to.

The Primary contact email is what we use to notify you about the verification of your account. It's important that the email you provide for the primary contact is one that is regularly managed and watched.

For more information, see Verification and your account information.

The security contact receives email notifications from Microsoft when a security incident affects the CSP partner tenant or the customer tenants that have granted reseller relationship and/or administrative relationship rights to the partner. For more information, see Cloud Solution Provider security contact.

Business locations can be reviewed or added here also, and these are location Partner IDs (PLAs) generated to identify specific subsidiaries in different locations that your company might have. Use the business location Partner ID for transactional business like the Cloud Solution Provider program or incentives programs. Learn more about locations here, see Manage locations.

If your account is enrolled in MAICPP and it has undergone a merger, the history of actions taken related to this will be available here.

Additionally, for the Reseller section, from here's where the Customer support profile will be updated (you need Global admin and Compliance admin roles to update this).

For Developer, all IDs needed to manage your Commercial Marketplace profile are displayed in this tab, and also here's where you can update your Contact info.

Identifiers

The Identifiers page contains the Partner Center identities for your company: PartnerIDs, publisher IDs, Windows publisher IDs, and more. Each area can be expanded and edited so that, for example, the primary contact for your publishing business is easily located.

Partner of Record (POR) Validation Requirements

Starting December 1, 2025, Microsoft will enforce POR validation for all CSP indirect reseller transactions. To avoid transaction blocks due to POR validation failures, partners must ensure that the Partner Location Account (PLA) ID assigned to an order is:

  • Correct and valid
  • Linked to an active CSP indirect reseller tenant

These checks can be performed in the Identifiers section of Partner Center. This section displays all Partner Center identities associated with your account, including your PLA ID (formerly MPN ID).

Important

If the PLA ID assigned to an order is incorrect, go to Account Settings > Identifiers to confirm the accuracy and account type.

If the PLA ID isn't linked to an active reseller tenant, use the Identifiers section to verify whether the PLA ID is associated with a properly onboarded CSP tenant.

Tenants profile

The Tenants profile page contains all of the information about your Microsoft Entra tenants, both commercial and developer. This profile is where the global admin can associate new tenants to the partner global account. To learn more about the capabilities this section provides to you:

Note

The Microsoft ID shown in this section is the same as your Microsoft Entra tenant ID.

Billing profile

This section lists all the details related to Billing profiles such as the sold-to address, contact info, and any tax info associated with your billing account. This address is used to determine the tax rate for your purchase. Billing notification emails are sent to this primary contact in case email addresses aren't provided for your global admins. To learn more about this section:

Account merge

In case you own multiple Partner Center accounts (located on different tenants) or you're merging/acquiring a company that holds a Partner Center account, through the account merge page, you can invite another company from the Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program to merge with yours. If they accept, all locations, offers, benefits, incentives, and users are merged into your primary global account. To learn more about account merge, see Merge your partner account with another partner account.

Company profile

The Company profile page identifies the type of partnership you have with Microsoft, such as independent software vendor or CSP program partner. It shows the number of customers you're working with, annual revenue, and the current size of your company. Expand company information on the Company details page to tell Microsoft the type of work you want to do with Microsoft, such as build applications, resell Microsoft and non-Microsoft software, or be a systems integrator. You can also define where you currently do business and the locales where you'd like to expand your business in the future.

Payout and tax profiles and assignment

The Payout and tax page contains your payout and tax details, including Bill to information, Bank details, PO number, tax ID information for your company, VAT ID number if you have one, and the currency you use. These are used for listing your company’s payment profiles for:
