Co-sell is a benefit of your Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program membership. As you invest in your partnership with us and grow your business, we invest in your organization through extra co-sell benefits, which include top-tier benefits.

Until recently, partners participating in Azure IP co-sell with Microsoft could earn "top tier" benefits based on meeting certain performance metrics in the Microsoft Marketplace or criteria for Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitments (MACC). These benefits now fall under the certified software designation umbrella—as part of the Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program—streamlining the benefits experience for high-performing software development companies.

In the future, these benefits are available exclusively to partners with a certified software designation. Any partner in the Partner Program that wants to acquire or retain benefits is required to have at least one certified software designation. In addition, these benefits are no longer considered “top tier benefits”; they’re simply part of the certified software designation-aligned benefits within the Partner Program.

If you meet the requirements to unlock these benefits through certified software designations, your eligible Azure solutions will also be promoted to our sellers, who can easily identify you for joint sales opportunities with customers, based on their needs. Additionally, you'll have access to prioritized sales leads and PRACR vNext, the latest version of PRACR that streamlines the reporting process.  Note, PRACR isn't eligible for Modern Work and Business Applications solutions.

Partners eligible for these benefits can expect to:

  • Receive access to customers’ cloud consumption commitments (also known as MACC).
  • Be incentivized for the sales of eligible Azure solutions. (Note: This is applicable to all eligible Azure IP co-sell solutions.)
  • Have solutions promoted to Microsoft sellers, helping partners be more easily identified for joint sales opportunities with customers, based on their needs.
  • Get access to prioritized sales leads.
  • Get access to PRACR vNext, which gives you the ability to report Azure consumption revenue from your solutions.

While these changes are effective immediately,  partners with existing Azure IP co-sell top tier benefits can continue accessing them, including the ability to report PRACR on new and existing deals (inclusive of PRACR) until December 31, 2025. Microsoft is committed to supporting partners throughout the transition as they work to attain a certified software designation. After that date, a certified software designation will be required to receive these benefits.
