On my Surface Book, the lock screen always looks like this after awakening from sleep. It does not take up the full screen and can get annoying. All updates have been applied! How do I fix this?

This "feature" was introduced by Microsoft in an earlier update.

Everyone has this "feature" and many have commented on it.

There apparently isn't anything we can do about it until Microsoft fixes it.

I'm sure it will be gone in a future update.  And I agree it is annoying.

In years past when bugs were discovered sometimes companies would try to call the bug a "feature".  Sorry, it was my feeble attempt at humor.  It's a bug, pure and simple.  Not a show-stopping bug, but irritating nevertheless.

OK, I'll describe one for you.  ME.  I get it sometimes when Windows Hello recognizes my face and puts up a lock screen that doesn't cover the full screen.  So, yes, I've seen it many times.

Paul Thurrott on thurrott.com mentioned it in one of his articles.  I couldn't put my finger on it when I looked just now, but it's there somewhere.

I recall it's being mentioned in this forum somewhere.  I can't think of what to call it to put in a search field though.
