Hi Lisa, I am Paulo and I'd like to help.
Try to highlight the first word of the chapter > Right-click on it and then select Read aloud from here. See if this helps

I used Microsoft Edge for the Read Aloud function on PDFS and now all of a sudden the Read Aloud is not working right. I pick a chapter I want to read and it will not work, it goes right to the main page and starts reading that instead. I looked and I have the latest update, I cleaned the cookies/cache, and I even tried the reset setting, but nothing has worked. How do I fix this problem???

It doesn't work. I tried it. It just goes right back to the first page and starts reading from there every time, it's very annoying. It just started doing this the last few days. I don't know what changed unless the system has glitches all of a sudden. I hope they will make a new update to fix this issue.
I use Microsoft Edge for the “Read aloud” when viewing PDFS. For some reason, it’s not working now. It won’t let me select individual chapters to use the “Read Aloud” function on it. It always goes to the first page to start to read it instead of what I want it to read. Also, it won’t highlight or move the page down as it reads, it’s like it’s frozen but yet it’s not at the same time. There is definitely some glitch happening here. I tried resetting it, cleaning the cache, highlighting a word for it to read, right-clicking, and selecting “Read Aloud” that way, but nothing seemed to work. Could something be blocking it from going to individual chapters? Is there another way to fix this? Will there be a new update with fixes? Should I delete Microsoft Edge and try to reinstall it??? Please, help.
Is this happening on a PDF or on a website? If you encounter this on a website, try to clear the website data. To do this, go to Edge Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies and site data > See all cookies and site data. Search the website then click the bin icon to remove and check if the issue is fixed.
If that didn't help, you may report this by pressing Alt+Shift+I and submit the logs and recording of what's happening. It'll help the Edge team to diagnose the problem and create a fix for it.
