How to change the per site setting for permission of location service(geolocation api)

The permission (geolocation api) pop up for the site does not show up again when I once denied it by mistake. (Or I cannot deny it once accepted it.)

I cannot find the per site setting of the location service (geolocation api). Is there one for iPhone edge?

  1. How can I allow the use of geolocation api for particular site if I once denied it by mistake?
  2. How long will the site be allowed to use geolocation api without asking the user again?

(The pop up doesn’t show up again even when I close the app in app switcher. But when time passes, the pop up is shown again. I would like to know when or in what condition the pop up will be shown again after allowing)

    Hello, Lam1230

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

To change the per site setting for permission of location service (geolocation API) on Microsoft Edge for iPhone, you can follow these steps:

    1. Visit the website for which you want to change the location permission.
    2. In the corner of the address bar, select the Lock, Info, or Dangerous icon and select Site permissions.
    3. Next to Location, choose Ask (default), Allow, or Block from the list. Here is a reference image so you can see if you have the corresponding settings:

      • If you once denied the use of geolocation API for a particular site by mistake, you can allow it again by following the steps above.
      • The duration for which a site is allowed to use geolocation API without asking the user again is not explicitly stated in Microsoft Edge’s documentation. However, it’s noted that the permission pop-up doesn’t show up again even when you close the app in app switcher. Over time or under certain conditions (which are not specified), the pop-up will be shown again. It’s recommended to check the site’s or browser’s settings periodically to ensure they’re set according to your preference.

Please note that before sharing your precise location with a website, always review the site’s privacy policy. Here are some details that might helps you know about the persimmon of location:

Please feel free to let me know if you have other concerns, thanks.

no, there is no such setting “Next to Location, choose Ask (default), Allow, or Block from the list.” even in your reference image.

I cannot find the per site “Location” setting. Can you circle it out?

“Next to Location, choose Ask (default), Allow, or Block from the list.”This is a description of a possible setting. If it is convenient, can you share with me the URL where you encountered the problem? This will make it easier for me to do a test.

For every site that use geolocation, I cannot see any “Location” setting.

    1. Is there any mistake in your description?

For examples, I tried the following sites:

    https://chrisdavidmills.github.io/location-finder-permissions-api/

    https://www.google.com/search?q=map

You can see there’s no “Location” when I clicked the Lock icon.

I cannot find that setting, even in bing search.

Also, as I have said in last reply, you do not have “Location” even in your reference image.

    1. Can you provide a reference image of iOS edge that have “Location” setting ?
    2. Or if that’s the problem of other site, can you provide a url of a site with working “Location” setting implemented?

I guess you want the following pop-up window to appear?

If so, try clearing your cookies and the popup should appear again. If you clicked Don't Allow before, your current cookies may not be tracked by default and will be cleared in the following interface:
