How to change the per site setting for permission of location service(geolocation api)

The permission (geolocation api) pop up for the site does not show up again when I once denied it by mistake. (Or I cannot deny it once accepted it.)

I cannot find the per site setting of the location service (geolocation api). Is there one for iPhone edge?

  1. How can I allow the use of geolocation api for particular site if I once denied it by mistake?
  2. How long will the site be allowed to use geolocation api without asking the user again?

(The pop up doesn’t show up again even when I close the app in app switcher. But when time passes, the pop up is shown again. I would like to know when or in what condition the pop up will be shown again after allowing)

Yes, I want the pop up similar to above to be shown again.

But no, clearing the cookies does not work at all.

So, you also could not find the per site “Location” permission setting in iOS edge, right?

I thought that should be some common browser privacy setting nowadays…

    Hello, Lam1230

I've tested it myself and clearing the cookies will make the popup reappear.

Regarding your question "find the per site "Location" permission setting in iOS edge," I guess it should be based on the IOS system setting of the privacy- Location service, Edge for iOS location data is stored in your local IOS device, if you need to make it appear again, you can try to reinstall Edge for IOS, the popup window should appear again.

    Thanks for testing.

But I still cannot get the pop up to show again even I have cleared all the browsing data. I am using iPhone XR, iOS16.6.1, edge 116.0.1938.79.

(I suppose that should not be related to the browsing data but the implementation of edge browser app itself. And clearing all the browser data not specific to a site is also a bit gone too far)

Anyway, if I reinstall edge again, the pop up will be shown again, but it still doesn’t show up anymore after I have answered it (Don’t allow/ OK), no matter I have cleared all the browsing data for many times.

So, you are saying that edge is not providing the per site permission settings, which safari has provided as below.

And the only way I can change my permission setting for a site is to reinstall edge (and at the same time lose all my browsing data stored locally).

It is really a disappointing answer to hear from you…

    Anyway, thanks.

    Hello, Lam1230

Thanks for your efforts and testing so far.

I guess I don't seem to have any more ideas in this area, maybe it's related to a specific Edge version or this still has certain settings that I don't know about yet. I'll keep the thread open for anyone with ideas to post their solutions here.

Again, thanks for your patience and understanding.
