Hi ,
I've seen this problem, it's usually a problem with the MUX switch, but on Acer Nitro V laptops it's a hardware failure. Do a test using the screen at 60 instead of 120/144 and see if the problem occurs.
Thanks

Why is my Cursor lagging every now and then, also why is the Nvidia_dGPU waking randomly when its supposed to be sleeping???
Device Info:
IdeaPad Gaming 3 15ARH7, Ryzen 5 7535HS, RTX 3050 6GB, 16 GB RAM, 120 Hz (display is connected to AMD-iGPU)
Link: Video of the problem (OR) Video of the problem
What fixes it temporarily:
-> Going into the safe mode (which then uses 'MS-Display drivers' and disables all 3rd party drivers) solved the stutter/lag problem shown in the video, it didn't occur anymore.
-> Disabling 'NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 6GB Laptop GPU' in 'Device Manager' also fixes the lags/stutters. I did not face it anymore after doing this.
I tried inspecting the GPU in 'HWInfo64', and I can confirm the GPU stays asleep (https://ibb.co/chFyC2sn) meaning Optimus is doing its job. I can also see the GPU waking for a split second without any reason which is not supposed to happen, it should be 0% (0W) all the time.
EDIT: I JUST FOUND THE PROBLEM IS REAL FOR MANY. IT WAS AWLAYS THERE AND NEVER GOT SOLVED PROPERLY. (I can confirm it because I have seen this on several dual-GPU laptops in the shops recently which when I reported to support & here was denied.)

It happens on 60Hz as well as 120Hz.

Nope, this one doesn't have a MUX switch. It solely depends on Optimus to hibernate the dGPU.
Hi ,
I understand it's Optimus, but I must have misread the information. However, it's still a hardware failure, as it occurs in previous versions of Windows, whether 10 or 11.
Probably a failure in the Optimus switching chip.
Give feedback if the information was useful or not.
Thanks

No, like I said its been happening right after I had this out of the box. You cant just say Optimus chip has failed. If that was the case, it would be stuck on one specific chip OR cause problems when I use the dGPU (Games, editing)...
I previously had an older laptop with Intel + Nvidia config. It had the same problems too.
Edit: I did not say anything about Windows 10
