Hotmail freezes when I try to open an attached PDF

Usually, the PDF file is not opened by the Outlook client, but by a browser or other software. Have you tried changing the default browser? I am having the same problem. And it is not about my computer. This started with the recent change to the appearance of my inbox and whatever changes in the system that that involves. I need to be able to download my receipts for medical and financial purposes. Now I cannot do that. This is more than an inconvenience. It is infuriating. And infuriating that I cannot call someone to get it figured out or reported and thereby fixed. It is by sheer random luck that I even fell upon this thread with this reply option.

My mac uses Safari and always has. As I mentioned, I never had a problem prior to a recent Outlook/hotmail change. I cannot afford a new system to handle a new download. I should not have to decide between access to my documents and groceries.

I am having the same problem. I have changed nothing on any settings, browser etc but suddenly cannot open any attachment in Hotmail. When I try, it freezes the Hotmail page and I have to close it down. I can’t even log out of Hotmail properly - the whole page freezes. If Microsoft can’t provide a solution, I’ll have to move to another email service.
