I was able to get in by going to "outlook.live.com"
instead of my usual "Hotmail.com"

I have been trying to sign into to Outlook email (which is actually a hotmail account) for four days now. Each time, I only get a screen that says "We can't sign you in right now. Please try again later." Even if I try to sign in through another Outlook tab, like a trouble shooter, it comes up with the same screen. In entering my email on an outlook troubleshooter, it told me there was nothing wrong with my account. I'm not sure what to do, or how to get into it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, but none of these worked. :(
I've been having issues with this also. It's only happening in Chrome. I was able to login within the Safari browser. However, I tried Lisa Chandler's suggestion of using outlook.live.com instead of hotmail.com within the Chrome browser, and this worked for me.
Hi! Sorry to hear that you are facing troubles to log into your account, please try the options below:
4 Try using a different network, such as a hotspot created with a mobile phone.
Me too, same since I got the latest round of spam emails in my Outlook inbox (typical behavior, lol).
Clearing cookies. Private window. Brave Browser (effectively Chrome). Firefox. With or without shields / adblock. Nothing works. Outlook is just (as is typical, lol!)...broken. I gave up on using Outlook for my main email address approximately 11 years ago, and now use it just for spam / companies that demand an email address that are likely to just spam me anyway.
And it ain't even good for that anymore, lol!
Fortunately, email clients are still able to access the account--but they can't report blatantly obvious spam to the Outlook system as spam. So the "Cash confirmation", "Please respond", "Weight loss gummies", etc. emails go directly in the inbox...as if spam filtering was never invented.
When trying to log in to "outlook.com", it redirects to:
https://login.live.com/login.srf?wa=wsignin1.0&rpsnv=175&ct=1753992503&rver=7.5.2211.0....
and curiously, the &ct value changes about eight times (sequentially counting up) in very quick succession; the numeric value is clearly a Unix Epoch timestamp. This indicates the page is reloading over and over again in a failed dead loop--before giving us that classic Microsoft BSOD equivalent.
