Time indicator bar in Microsoft Calendar is not updating

The new Outlook Calendar indicator seems to freeze and does not update as the day moves. Is this a bug that needs fixing or is there a refresh option I need to use? Any help would be great. I didn't realise how much I used the indicator to see what was next in the calendar until I realised I was an hour further along than I thought I was. (I know the time is on the side and my clock works but if the function is there, I'd love to be able to use it).

{It was 9.41am when I took the screen shot}

I have had the same problem also for a few days now.

When I use OWA this problem is not present. If I click 'today' or switch view to Month/Week etc. this does not change the problem. When I switched between the old outlook (where the problem did not appear) and then back to the new outlook, the time updated but then gradually it degraded back to being out of sync.

Time also seemed to stop from when I was working yesterday and now the time indicator is stuck on yesterday's date.

I've since followed the Cache clearing/repair instructions that you indicate @AlexDN and will monitor.

    Microsoft has confirmed the issue:

Dear Brad,     We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the recent issue affecting the Outlook Calendar time indicator. We understand how critical calendar functionality is to your daily operations, and we want to assure you that this matter is receiving our highest priority.    This is a known issue currently impacting many users across organizations. Our engineering team is actively investigating and has tripled their efforts to identify and implement a permanent fix as quickly as possible.    We are closely monitoring the situation and will keep you updated with any progress. In the meantime, we recommend using the Outlook Web App (OWA) as a temporary workaround, where the calendar indicator continues to function correctly. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding, and we apologize again for any disruption this may have caused. Best regards,  Microsoft 365 Support

What really frustrates me is that there is a nonsense accepted answer here. This is one of my biggest gripes with these "community-led" forums is that Microsoft brushes things off.

As of 8.27.2025 - this issue is still occuring.

My support desk and I have

    1.) Adjusted all outlook settings,

    2.) Repaired New Outlook

    3.) Reset New Outlook

    3.) Deleted cache

4.) Then we completely WIPED my laptop and reimaged it from scratch...

5.) The issue stopped occurring AFTER the reimaging (But BEFORE) all the windows updates downloaded.

6.) So what we determined is one of the Microsoft updates (or Dell driver updates) seemed to introduce the time bar error. HOWEVER, due to the extensive number of updates, we could not determine WHICH update caused the issue.

7.)I did apply the final 2 Windows 11 Service Pack updates (These are significantly large updates)

    • These updates did NOT resolve the time bar issue.

    Current Status

I have 2 options until this is resolved.

1.) Stay in new outlook and simply put reminders in my calendar 2-3 times per day to exit and re-enter Outlook to reset the time bar

    or

2.) switch back to Old Outlook (classic) and use that.

I am just using option 1 - and just exiting and re-entering outlook a few times per day at this point.

Wish Microsoft would make this a critical priority to fix. It's a problem and you will miss notifications because of it.

I was experiencing this issue and then applied the following Windows cumulative patch set to my Dell laptop and the problem has mysteriously disappeared.

I will, of course, update this thread should the issue reappear.

    2025-08 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 24H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5063878) (26100.4946)
