I have found that if I also have the old Outlook open (which tracks time correctly), the new Outlook will also stay in sync.
Time indicator bar in Microsoft Calendar is not updating
The new Outlook Calendar indicator seems to freeze and does not update as the day moves. Is this a bug that needs fixing or is there a refresh option I need to use? Any help would be great. I didn't realise how much I used the indicator to see what was next in the calendar until I realised I was an hour further along than I thought I was. (I know the time is on the side and my clock works but if the function is there, I'd love to be able to use it).
{It was 9.41am when I took the screen shot}

2025-08-14T06:15:35.5766667+00:00 for me, 2 days in a row - in the morning after wake-up the issue persists
closing then restarting outlook resolves for the remainder of the day

2025-08-14T16:10:17.52+00:00 Also experiencing this issue, first noticed it yesterday.
Closing new Outlook and reopening it fixes the bar's positioning in the moment, but it gets stuck again.

2025-08-14T16:37:18.7166667+00:00 I also have multiple users with this issue. I am hoping this gets more visibility. Reported the issue in Microsoft 365 Admin Center to no response.

2025-08-14T20:20:06.8533333+00:00 Same problem. Stops randomly through the day. Only a restart of the app fixes it, but not for long.
Hope Microsoft releases a fix for this.

2025-08-15T15:01:15.68+00:00 I have internal customers facing the same issue with the Outlook version 1.2025.806.300 (Production), Client Version: 20250808005.08.
I don't have this issue in the Client Version: 20250808005.07, it started on 20250808005.08.

2025-08-15T18:12:33.65+00:00 Every single user in my org is having this issue as of the last few days... Restarting only fixes it for a few hours and then it locks up again. This is real annoyance for us, causing missed appointments and scheduling confusion.

2025-08-15T20:03:53.71+00:00 I am having the same issue with Outlook. This is preventing notifications for appointments coming up as they should. Windows is keeping time properly.
In the attached image you will notice the system time in the bottom corner is 2:10PM. The current meeting began at 14:00 (2:00PM) but the notification thinks it is 33 minutes in the future.
I have only noticed this problem cropping up in the last week or 10 days. -

2025-08-18T05:49:47.2233333+00:00 I am also encountering this issue consistently:
The actual time for the screenshot was 1:45pm.
Restarting the app refreshes the current time but it quickly desyncs.
Only started recently. All troubleshooting steps applied, but no change.

2025-08-18T19:46:17.7233333+00:00 This is a super annoying issue in the NEW Outlook.
The calendar shows a blue line for the current time but it is lagging about 3.5 hrs for me:

2025-08-19T11:39:36.4333333+00:00 I use outlook app frequently and I noticed this issue since a couple of days ago. The issue is not appearing in the Web Application version. Time zone setting in my computer and the outlook app match.

2025-08-19T15:03:42.55+00:00 I am also experiencing this issue.. Our support team opened up a ticket with Microsoft.. This just started occurring last Monday - 8/11 or Wednesday 8/13. The timebar in the NEW Outlook has begun to slowly drift off of time.
The timebar in new outlook gets worse as the day goes on, and the associated notifications DO NOT work properly as the timebar drifts off.
We have tried EVERYTHING listed above.. EVERYTHING.
1.) The issue does NOT occur in Outlook Web
2.) The issue is not occuring on my home laptop in new outlook.
3.) We have checked all windows settings for Time and Time zones
4.) We have checked all outlook settings for time and time zones
5.) We have reset and repaired New Outlook.. no change in timebar error
6.) We have uninstalled and reinstalled new Outlook - no change in timebar error.
7.) Exiting new outlook and reloading it - SEEMS to reset the timebar, but only temporarily.. The issue re-occurs within 30 minutes after going back into the app.
Currently I have reverted back to Classic outlook and I am using that... the timebar issue is not presenting on Classic Outlook.
This issue is ONLY occuring on my work laptop, with my company domain and only in New Outlook.. The issue started around 8/11 or 8/13. The only software update that occurred around tha time was a Windows Defender update.. That was it..
Nothing else was installed to the laptop.
My New Outlook Version is:
Microsoft Outlook Version: 1.2025.806.300 (Production)
Client Version: 20250801002.12
WebView2 Version: 139.0.3405.102

2025-08-19T15:28:28.83+00:00 In your example you have multiple time zone configured to show in the calendar. I do as well. Can anyone else confirm that they too have multiple time zones shown? I wonder if that is a common thread?

2025-08-20T14:50:35.7933333+00:00 The bar ends up being behind, but worse, my reminders end up being way off--I just had one fire at 9:45am (15 minutes before my 10am call) but it said the meeting was in 24 minutes. So clearly something in the system knows what time it is.

2025-08-20T17:17:00.3733333+00:00 Same issue here. I had multiple time zones as of early July and then removed those from my OS and Outlook. This issue started last week for me. So, it may be something with time zones, but it seems persistent even if time zones have been removed (or it might not be related to time zones at all).

2025-08-21T07:23:33.92+00:00 It is even worse, because the time is hanging in outlook, the listed emails are affected as well. It's a freeze of the time in Outlook and in my case now it is still frozen on the date of yesterday causing emails that were received yesterday still being displayed under the "Today" grouping and emails received today are displayed above the "Today" grouping as if they are received in the future.
I need to close outlook and open it again to temporarily get rid of the issue.

2025-08-21T16:49:40.0833333+00:00 It seems you can still use the new Outlook as long as classic Outlook is open in the background. If both are open, the new Outlook seems to stay in sync. (At least that is what I have found.)

2025-08-22T21:19:08.1833333+00:00 Can you please look at your last release, and fix this issue. This just started a week or so ago and It's VERY disruptive to your customers. I've done everything suggested and it works for a very small amount of time and then it's off time again. At this rate, I will likely have to go back to old outlook client. I do not like email in web browsers.

2025-08-22T21:46:28.3066667+00:00 A couple of our users are experiencing the same issue. Tried one of the suggestions where both Classic and New Outlook are opened to make them sync, but only Classic Outlook is correct on time.

2025-08-25T20:58:41.0333333+00:00 The problem for me is that since the time indicator is not correct, then I am not getting notifications for meetings. I have been late to several meetings now since this started happening. I really hope this gets fixed soon.

2025-08-26T12:56:07.35+00:00 Since my company rolled out 2025-08 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5063875), the issue seems fixed. It is strange, because the patch notes do not seem to have any relation with this issue at all. I'll keep monitoring. I'm glad it's now officially flagged at MS though.

2025-08-28T12:41:23+00:00 Same issue. Only a full close/re-open of New Outlook temporarily resolves.
Multiple time zones in taskbar clock, but single timezone in New Outlook Calendar -> Timezones. "When I travel" box is ticked.
